Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Spitting incident at Dorking

This was an incredibly dumb move, and I don't want to let my distaste for the guy who runs BoA affect how I feel about this. It was terrible, no question the lad should at the very least miss this chance to see Alty promoted.

I just don't get how this had to be public? Have a word with the club, know they will be able to deal with it in house and be done with it or at least keep it somewhat private. Instead an Alty fan who goes home and away is publicly shamed.

It makes me delighted that he will be back filming NLS games at sports centres again rather than getting to feel big time on the coat tails of a loudmouth with a few bob to waste.

A point is ok .How many games will Wilson be out for ?
Got to be rest of the season.

Point is fine, Aldershot slipped up, Oldham seem to be out of it.

We're all Kiddy for the next two hours

I know Dorking are absolutely desperate for the points, but so were Kiddy last Friday & Boreham Wood a couple of weeks before that. We’ve put the relegation strugglers away at their own grounds recently & if we want top 5 we’ll need to do that again this Saturday. Should be noted too only Kiddy have a worse home record than them this season, & that stand out victory against Chessy aside it’s mainly been a long cycle of defeats with the odd draw for them at their ground since Christmas.

Also think the plastic pitch whilst not ideal we train on one at Egerton most days, so that shouldn’t be a huge factor.

Can’t envisage many changes to the team that started the Oldham game, not a surface to risk starting Justin A on with his recent injury problems but hopefully he might be on the bench. Hopefully Dorking have learnt from their gamesmanship & cynicism at our place & we get a proper game with 22 players on the pitch for the full game. I imagine Linney will have a bit of extra motivation too…

That lad won't fancy making that red card challenge on their own pitch - he'd have no skin left on his leg!
Wasn't it that lad who's gone Gateshead?

« on: April 03, 2024, 09:27:34 PM »
Talking of run ins, I see Emley have won the NECL and are back up to level 4 again.
Most interesting is that one of the scorers in their championship winning game was a certain James Walshaw! He's got to be over 40 now surely? 🤔
Good spot, he's aparently 40 as of the 12th Feb this year.

He's still not the oldest ex player with Kevin Ellison scoring a brace over the weekend. Nicky Clee is also still knocking them in somehow

Sincerely hoping York do the business tonight and Kiddy also pull off the escape with maybe Woking or Wealdstone joining BW, Dorking, & Oxford.

Some of us live down south you know! 😆
Ha, it was more due to morbid curiosity how they would end up dividing NLN/S. Plus preference for Kiddy & York

Yeah, they have a bad run in, and they seem to have lost their fight over the recent games (their 2 goals this weekend excluded).

Sincerely hoping York do the business tonight and Kiddy also pull off the escape with maybe Woking or Wealdstone joining BW, Dorking, & Oxford.

Possibly the last time we'll hear of them, it doesn't usually go well when the team slides so fast and the chairman has already given the "Don't this town want a X level club..." cry.

For that forward line to not score goals is also a bit criminal.

I don't know much either, but I wonder if it's enough time to bed in properly.

Thanks Amsterdam. Very much appreciated but I epitomise the definition of computer ignoramus! 😂😂
No problem, any issues feel free to PM.

I hope there is no pyro in the ground (but an absolute sh*tload on the allotments)

There has never been a better time to put on a show for the cameras.

An early goal will turn the other 1000 there against Oldham.

Here's a solution for you guys.

Install a chrome plugin such as stylebot - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/stylebot/oiaejidbmkiecgbjeifoejpgmdaleoha

From there open the options and add a new style for altyfans.co.uk. Copy and paste in full the contents of this page - http://www.altyfans.co.uk/Themes/red_theme_v2_2/css/index.css?RC4

Save.

This should then mean that the forum is at least forced to have some styling (even if the site is not back completely as expected)

Hardly fair to complain about a free service that is now kept alive by a bloke who has no interest in Alty due to not living in the area anymore. Pretty decent Gary even does that tbf.
See above for help fixing this longer term for anyone suffering from a wonky site.

£250,000.00 for Josh Stokes acording to google I would imagine ccc would go for at least that

I doubt they paid that much tbh and I doubt we'd get that much for Chris, but 200,000 is not beyond the realms of possibility.

I think your estimation of a fee for CCC is way over what could be achieved.
I hope the club are holding him at a more modern evaluation than seen here.

Josh Stokes went for near 300k in total, including a no wage loan back.
Richard Brodie went to Crawley for 275k nearly 15 years ago.
Fleetwood gave 150k for Vardy, then got 1m turning to ~1.7m in total.
Nathan Thomas went for 350k in 2017
Joe Lolley went for 350k in 2014

Our ticket prices have grown considerably since Brodie was sold for 275k showing the rate of inflation in a relative way (13 quid for those wondering http://www.altrinchamfc.co.uk/seas1011.htm).

500k is cheap.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Isaac Marriott
« on: March 26, 2024, 03:16:34 PM »
Tough luck on Isaac given his England call up and missing the sharp end of the season. Positive is to get op done and into recovery hopefully back for some preseason or early season games. Was unlucky this season with injury lay off. Due an upturn in fortune next season.
ps Was it last season or the one before when he and Kossy were sidelined for a long time together?
Last season, Kossy didn't come back until preseason. Issac around our turn in fortunes in late Oct if I remember correctly.
