Up until today I wasn't too bothered about the manager not giving instructions during the game, maybe the assistant did it, but blimey today the defence needed more instructions from the boss.
One example: Adam Dodd at left back needed to be told to stay back more, too often he kept rampaging up the left wing leaving the left back position totally empty. Either he was under instructions to keep doing it and not be too arsed about defending, or the manager didn't notice / think it was an issue so let him keep doing it, or the manager did notice but chose not to say anything. BAFFLING either way.
Adam Dodd can play, but he (like others) needed more leadership. They come across as rudderless.
