Title: Great result
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on September 06, 2014, 05:33:18 PM
That's your bread and butter, very good performance, very good result, very good crowd. Thought Perry had a superb 90 minutes, very we'll play lads, and correct team for the occasion , better team won

Griffins best game for the club also

Marshall, Griffin, Lawrie, Perry, Leather were all absolutely outstanding today. Nobody had a bad performance and it was an all round quality team display. Very proud of the boys. They were no mugs. Their attacking options were fantastic and but for a killer ball and worse defending they could have nicked it at the end. Their subs really did change the game for them.

Very pleased with today.  They came at us at 100mph for 15 mins but we gradually got a hold on the game and got better.

They were always going to come into it at the end as they had nothing to lose but we held on.

In the same way very few could be pleased with what they did at Nuneaton, today they should all take heart from a decent showing across the park.

Get on the coach to Alfreton now and lets get another three points on the board.

Enjoyable game! Crowther played well,  a clear confidence player and his game is defo to get at people.  I am critical of Marshall and Griffin but both played really well, defo Griffins best game. However they had nothing to offer upfront and were poor so I won't get carried away about Griffin and Marshall's performances,  they need to do it over a period of games.. I still thought Perry didn't do too much, wayward passing and needs to be stronger and to be honest their central defenders were rubbish. Needed result and good game to watch!

Well, it probably should have been a bit more comfortable in the end, but all in all that was a pretty good performance and result. Griffin was easily my motm - I'm pleased that others have noticed how fabulous he was today. Neither centre half put a foot wrong either, which may have something to do with the confidence they have in Parton behind them. It was particularly pleasing to see the more maligned players having good games today. As I mentioned to the guys standing next to me, Kyle is in the team to head, hold, barge and wind up, so judging him on his passing/shooting is pointless. Today he played his role beautifully. The best team won, so well done to all at Alty.

Sinnot's decision to take Clee off when he did nearly cost us a result.

Of course mate.  It wouldn't seem like an Alty Fans forum post without some negativity.

I saw Foz speaking to him post match so asked him, and apparently it is ankle ligaments.  No idea what that means at this stage.

I thought their 14 marshell-king ex Histon was outstanding, and possibly saved them from a hiding

I think you were watching a different game Oli. Mitchell-King was outstanding and I thought the lad McAuley played well alongside him, even if he shouldn't have been on the pitch afor a considerable part of the game. The 3 substitutions made a world of difference to them and Crawford, Hayes and Bradbrook were fantastic. Their movement and energy was exceptional and caused us a few problems. The fact they made so little impact was because of Griffin and Marshalls performances.

Williams great? I thought he had a stinker. I'll agree you get a lot of effort from him, but his passing was poor.

At last we started shooting at goal.
That put them on the back foot.
Well done to 'The Mighty Robins'. :) :)

I guess we were watching different games. I thought his energy and overall contribution was a big part of the difference between the sides. A very exciting prospect indeed.

Williams will be good when he adjusts to this level, he wants too much time on the ball but when games get stretched out second half he comes into his own. In the first half he lost the ball 11 times, I was counting. Moult has more physical presence and can pass. I would start with Moult and bring williams on later especially away from home.

We all see the game from different perspectives I suppose. I accept that if other people saw him make errors they will see things differently to myself. Fron my viewpoint I just saw a lot of positives in the energy and desire he showed. Definitely a good egg.

I agree that Williams has a lot of promise, but he isnt the finished article yet and despite the fact you didnt see his numerous errors a lot of us did. Moult was instrumental in us getting into this league is very good too and dont forget has experience of BSP football. LS obviously rates SW but expect too see Moult play tuesday if I'm right. (he's ex Alf dont forget and fell out with Laws).

Kyle perry may not be the fittest person on the pitch but he really does cause defenders problems with his physical presence and alongside reeves agility it's a good match

Thought we well deserved the win and more the the better team apart form the 1st 15mins and last 10mins.

Some good solid performances as has stated but Dartford will be in a relegation fight all season.

Must say I'm not a Sean Williams biggest fan as he gives the ball away far to cheaply, is a good ratter though.

Great ball in by Crowther for the 2nd, just wish he try and get by defenders a lot more.

The way Reeves was gingerly moving about in bar, I wouldn't be surprised if he was out on Tuesday. If we have enough to beat what appears to be a shocking Alfreton without Clee and Reeves I'm not sure.
