a competitive fixture in this competition attracted 31 people. 

And it gets worse - the attendance at Alsager Town v Vauxhall Motors was only 27 ! That well known and strongly supported club Northwich Victoria drew a massive gate of 60 against Cheadle Town (it may have been 600 really but  Rushe won't tell HMRC that !)

The six matches in this competition on Tuesday drew a total of 472 hardy souls - less than 80 per match on average. It wouldn't even pay for the cost of switching on the floodlights ! Chester drew more than these games put together on Wednesday night (just over 600) but managed to lose to Congleton Town.

they'll rebrand it the conference county champions floodlit league....regions will play 3 rounds of league fixtures with the losers going into the regions world series finals....winners to go into a national league world series play offs with the final at wembley....as an extra incentive a covetted place in the 3rd round of the fa cup will mean clubs go sh*t or bust to win it.

They should play this pre season definetly IMO....it would become interesting then....I can remember an Alty equaliser against warrington town being met with sighs and groans coz it meant extra time on a freezing night.

Never liked this competition. Back in the day, it was an unwelcome distraction from title pushes (and we were fined for fielding an understrength team) and now it is an unwelcome distraction from pushing for league survival. I could live with it if we (and other higher league teams) were permitted to field reserve/youth players in the fixtures.
