Fairly sure that is their popular terrace behind the goal.

Any terrace behind a goal when we're segregated is anything but popular with me !

I'm assuming we stand?....in the harry McNally stand??
Last time I went there I seem to remember we were all in the seats in the far corner, the away terrace was closed & they seemed surprised at the number we brought. Hopefully they'll have done a bit more homework this time …
The Harry McNally is the home end.

Indeed, and that was when the 'We're not Vauxhall Motors, there's seats over there' chant was born!!

Should be an entertaining game there on Saturday. Hopefully we go and express ourselves and show no restraint. Hopefully a big Away following despite the lack of direct trains from Altrincham. There are still plenty of rail options
There’s an hourly train to Chester from the airport at 37 minutes past every hour.
This train also departs Piccadilly At 53 minutes past the hour
There’s two trains an hour from Piccadilly at 31 minutes past and 55 minutes past to Crewe for connecting services to Chester which are plentiful
Chester 6/5
Draw 13/5
Alty 13/8
Let’s get there in numbers and not be gallant runners up in one of these bigger games for a change
-
Just noticed Chester managed to beat Nuneaton 3 -2 last night. Hardly an emphatic victory

Looking forward. New Order Friday night at Ally Pally and then up early doors Saturday for the Chester train from Euston. Top class circuit in Chester city centre, spoilt for choice pre-game. It’s got all the ingredients for a classic on and off the pitch.

What time are you guys arriving in Chester?
-
Team picks it's self.
Hardest game we've had for a while.
Chester 2-1 Alty. Hulme
Hope we travel in good numbers and H Block behave themselves
-
Go out and give it our best shot ala Bradford. We don't lack confidence get the first goal and and see how they react. We can do this
-
2-2 for me

Took their foot off the gas at 3-0

2-2 for me

The 1113 arrival. OHA to kick off I think.
-
They have done well since an 8-1 defeat at Blyth caused their Stadium to be flooded.
-
Strange result that considering where Blyth are in the league
-
How many are we going to take tomorrow then? I’d plump for about 350-400, though who thought we’d take 650 to Stockport the other week so could be more.

Anywhere between 3-400 is a safe bet I reckon, but as you say, we certainly have it in us to take in excess of that.
.
-
Going Chester 1-1 Alty. We take the lead early and hold on for what feels like an eternity before a sucker punch equaliser.
-
This is one of the best fixtures of the season. I'd hope for around 500 Alty fans. Chester are probably the best team in the league, but on our day we can be unplayable.
-
Looking forward to this match. 3 of us going. Come on Alty.
-
I'll be there with my lad and 2 grandsons.
As I said last week at Hereford, I will be happy with a point tomorrow.
If we support Jordon up top more then I reckon we could win it.
Chester 2-2 Alty
Lots of Alty fans cheering the lads on..
Cmon Alty
-
Give them a shout for me, please, Ray. I'm stuck in Broseley. It was good last week to keep encouraging JJ and Andy playing just in front of us but a sore throat resulted! Who do you see getting the ball more to Jordan? From where we were stood second half last week at Hereford you could see that it wasn't happening enough.
-
Chester 2-2 Alty
Johnson, Hancock
Att. 1517 (432 from Alty)
Harrop yellow card 15th minute
-
1-1 again but attendance 2102
-
It seems we are in the West Stand again and not behind the goal. So if we take more than 400 it is going to be a bit congested in that corner.

There are 500 seats allocated to Alty fans in the West Stand.
If more than 500 Alty fans turn up, then Chester will open the South Stand behind the goal.

Why is it were always stuffed in a corner (Kiddy Hereford and Chester)
We welcome fans with open arms and give them full access to the ground. These so called big time clubs can't even open four sides of there ground ffs.
It's a fkn disgrace.
Think I may review my away travel.

Thoroughly enjoyed that perfect performance. Jake especially was awesome, but all the players were sublime today. We're quite good.

-
Who was getting the ball into Jordan......anyone there tell me?
-
That was some performance.
I need to say that Thompson played very well and was confident. I am the first to dig him out but he was decent today.
Moult and White were also outstanding. The whole team were excellent.
I loved the fact we kept attacking to relieve potential pressure.
Only criticism is our set pieces. I bloody love JJ but his corner taking isn't the best.
That atmosphere was a different level. Absolutely buzzing.
-
Mega result and performance, well done PP and the whole team.
This is what a Chester fan thought,..
"Well beaten today ~~ no complaints. Altrincham the best team we've played this season. Gary Stopforth (our engine) was out today and it showed".
-
Huge result. Why did we take our foot off at 1-0? We didn't at 2-1 and that's what won the game. They couldn't get back in, got rattled, and lost their composure. What was going on for their goal? I think fans were the only ones that saw their guy sneaking in at the back post. This was the win we should have had at Kidderminster.
-
Top level that.
We played well at Hereford last Saturday but today we’ve stepped it up and got a fully deserved 3 points.
Hulme’s goals were both class in different ways. The first he used the defender as a screen and curled it into the far corner
a la Thierry Henry in his prime, the second he rose highest in a crowd at the back post and nodded it in. Great centre forward play.
Thompson, Moult and JJ the other stand outs but you can see how we are maturing as a team. Gone away two successive Saturdays against two of the biggest names at this level and controlled both games.
Chester tbf contributed to what was a very good game of football between two well matched teams but the result was fair. Great support by our lot too. Momentum is building without a shadow.
-
Gary Stopforth (our engine) was out today and it showed".
No excuse. Two of our engine room were sat in the stand with the fans, and we still won.
-
Huge win
-
Big shout out to Tony Thomson today...good distribution and if you want that you've got to accept the odd one going over the side....I thought he won us 2 points today.
Jordan Hulme probably the other difference between the sides...inspiring display of leading the line
And unbelievable large noisy support...what an enjoyable away day.
Caps off PPs manager of the month nicely.
-
Superb and thoroughly deservered. Hulme definitely had a point to prove to Bill and Ben.
Whilst hard to single out players I thought Jones was outstanding, just add to above mentioned.
Did think we gave the ball away to easy at times.
Without doubt the hardest test in the last 15 months.
-
Fantastic result, that! Exciting times ahead if we can maintain this level.
-
Great result and game⚽️👍. Best team won.
Moult man of match for me. Tony was very good as was the rest the of the team. Must have been nearly 500 there today. Excellent support
-
Wow... Just back... Considering the opposition, that has to be collectively, one of the best performances I've seen for a very long time.
So glad Jordon found his scoring touch again, proving a point to the Chester management if nothing else.
No MoM for me, they were all bloody good today.
Loved standing with the singer's today who really do the club proud, I've not sang that much for many a year, so many travelling fans which really must give the lads a boost.
We now have a very good team who, in time, could really go places.
Today was a pleasure on so many fronts for me..
Roll on next Saturday
Cmon Alty.
-
Official figure says 355 in the away end - and the lads rewarded us with their best display of the season. Every one of them was class this afternoon but some special mentions nonetheless:
Tony Thompson was superb, and his distribution has improved out of all recognition.
Andy White and James Jones were the pick of our defence.
Jake Moult was simply massive.
Josh Hancock had his best game of the season, as did Owen Dale.
I'm still in shock at Jordan Hulme scoring a header - they just couldn't handle him.
Proud to be Alty tonight.
-
It’s rare I see consecutive games but the last week has been a pleasure for me, after years of looking forward to the day out I now look forward to the game. I thought we were better than them all over the pitch and they couldn’t have complained if we had made it 3 near the end, and if that is really the best team in the league as many people say then I can’t see why we can’t win it.
Last week I felt people were unfairly critical because if we had scored when on top I believe we would have murdered Hereford, today we got that goal and Chester had to push on which suits us, there were a couple of periods of pressure but in general I was never worried.
Mostly it’s just nice going to games knowing we will give it a go. It’s nice to see management and players appreciate the support they got and vice versa, something is building here.....
-
really enjoyed today, excellent performance against a team on a good run of form and considered by a lot to be title contenders, we were worthy winners so must be in with a shout. support today was fantastic, even i just had to join in
-
Superb performance against opposition who will be up round the top of the table.
Jordan certainly proved his point against the managers who released him, but the number of posts suggesting alternative men of the match show what a good team performance it was.
-
Cracking day and result. Fully deserved. Last time walking miles round to the away end I was wondering why on earth Watmore was on the bench, got done over by Sarcevic and co that day.
Today we were much the better side, fully deserved winners, atmosphere to match, hats off to all the singers.
Agree with earlier posts, if they’re backed to win the league we’ve nothing to fear. Up the reds.
-
Thought Owen Dale was superb second half, be a big miss if we can’t get him for the rest of the season.

Agree with the post above, best performance of the season. Over the last few weeks despite winning 3 or 4 nil, we haven't played that well, and Phil has even said that afterwards in the post match interview.
Today we were a different class, especially for the first 20 minutes they just couldn't cope with us.
Brilliant perforances all over the pitch, but the main point of the day, was Chester were going to go top if they beat us and we have come away and beat them.
If we play like this we have a great chance of the play offs.
In addition to the players above, I thought Dale played really well, he picks the ball up and runs at players we will miss him, when his loan ends.
Apart from that Moult and Harrrop worked hard in midfield, and the full backs pushed on, on a number of occasions.
A great atmosphere and win.
-
Must say it was a great header from Moult to Hulme for the winner
-
Must say it was a great header from Moult to Hulme for the winner
Moult was outstanding yesterday but it was a foul from what I saw but we deserved some luck for a couple of missed pens already this season.
-
Must say it was a great header from Moult to Hulme for the winner
......... but it was a foul from what I saw..........
Certainly the Chester fans in the stand opposite were all on their feet in some sort of animated protest so I suspect you might be right.

Wade your way past this young gentleman's reportage and punditry and find his not too bad phone video highlights.

Having just watched the YouTube highlights there was no foul from Jake or Jordan.
-
Maybe stand corrected that there wasn't a foul committed by Jake. Does that lad ever take a breath...

Rather mysteriously Chester FC only seem to be able to provide commentary for their goal.

I did not see any foul for our second

I did not see any foul for our second
Jake seemed to be grappling with their no.3. For us I say his run was being blocked, for them I'd say Jake was trying to wrestle him out of the way. If the no.3 had concentrated on the ball and not the player he might have cleared it.

Could they be any briefer?
I note the highlights I previously saw via the National League Twitter page were about 3 times as long but had been edited to make it look like Chester had about 500 shots on goal and Alty 3.
Great roar from our lot when both goals went in and I was amused by our lads winding up their crowd after the second goal. One of those clubs Chester who think they are much bigger than they are so was good to put them in their place.
-
Had to laugh at the bloke in the red coat who seemed very upset by the second goal.
Chester fans seem obsessed by how many Alty fans were there - there was a thread about it on their forum and they keep popping up in various Facebook groups too. If you lose the game then why not claim a moral victory by claiming that 'they hardly brought any'.
-
Yes, I saw that. Because, I think one person on here guessed we might take 500, we were ‘boasting’ about our away following, when in fact most said somewhere between 350-400, as it indeed turned out. It then moved onto how quiet we were, when on that Chester fans vlog you could only hear Alty fans. They certainly come across as a slightly weird and embittered bunch.
-

I reckon the beardy T**t in the red was going to ask Jordon for his autograph but realised he didn't have a pen
Sit down you tosser...

It appeared to me that he actually SPAT at the Alty players.

If he did then Chester FC (not City) should ban him
-
Does the FC stand for Formerly City ?
-
Re the guy in red, he should know better at his age. He leapt from the 3rd row to the very front to admonish our players.
It is times like that when the team result gives me pleasure, no more than he deserved.
-
And one or two of our fans leapt to the front when things got a bit tasty on the pitch, so let's not get all holier than though about it.
-
Doesn't look like he spat to me. That bloke didn't do anything that various Alty fans didn't do at full time of the Shaw Lane away game. We're also the worst club in Britain for hurling obscenities at the match officials. Perhaps take a look at ourselves a bit first.
