If I recall the penalty offence that took us to Anfield was a raised knee between John King's legs.
Indeed it was. I was watching from behind the goal on the Golf Road terrace as Joe Neenan's knee collided with the Kings Jewels. Years later I asked Kingy what he'd said to provoke the incident but he claimed innocence and said he merely stood in front of the keeper. One of the most bizarre things I've ever seen at a footy match.

It's great to be able to offer highlights at a reasonable time on a Sunday afternoon. Here's the extended highlights of Altrincham Vs Bradford (Park Avenue) with the controversial penalty decision in super slowmo:

Needless to say, Brian wasn't impressed!

Would the embargo still apply if we had a private members only subscription video service ?
This is the new league directive:
Clubs are not permitted to show National League match footage on their own website, mobile or social media for Saturday matches earlier than midnight on Sunday (i.e. permitted from 12.01am on Monday) and for matches other than Saturday matches not earlier than 10pm on the day following match day. As a directive it is subject to sanctions against the club if not adhered to.
I'm not party to the contact between the National League and Pitchero/Scout7 but would imagine that there must be some form of exclusivity hence the embargo in much the same way that Manchester United couldn't produce a members only video service while BT Sports/Sky/BBC have bought the television rights. I think the same would apply to us. We were made aware that the National League intend to monitor club media and punish miscreants. So it's not so much about whether there is public access or not, just the fact that footage has been published ahead of the embargo in any form.

There seems to be some vibrations maybe from the new gantry that causes slight flickering. I could be wrong.
This is partly due to a phenomena known in the trade as 'Flynn-bounce' which commonly occurs immediately after an Alty goal  ;)
Seriously though, this is great feedback. The new gantry has thrown up a number of issues one of which relates to the camera mounting. We are currently operating the camera wheelbarrow style which takes some getting used to (no smutty replies please). Having reviewed the footage this is most noticeable when the camera is zoomed in and a degree of camera-shake is evident. There are a number of steps we can take to reduce this such as a slightly stiffer grip setting but we're hoping to make some adjustments to the gantry in the near future which will give us a bit more flexibility.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Southport 1-3 Altrincham highlights
« on: August 10, 2018, 10:41:00 PM »
To be fair these highlights are edited by (or for) Pitchero rather than Southport. Compare the editing of the Leamington game in the Alty TV site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3C1rSb8WCY&t=3s to that on Pitchero http://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/club-info/517565 using the same gantry camera footage.
They have very different objectives - ours is more about the story of the game where theirs gives a quickly paced overview using a somewhat blunt editing knife.

The reason why you might see a wider view of proceedings than we are used to is that the footage provided to the league serves two functions which are often at crossed purposes; firstly to provide the supporters with entertainment in the form of the Pitchero edit and second to provide analysis on a separate, limited access performance platform which prefers a wider shot (so that player positioning can be analysed). Hope this helps explain things but feel free to stop me for a chat if you'd like a more detailed breakdown of the filming requirement of the National League this season.
