...he's an ex Alty midfielder....he's local.....they're local......any guesses?
Thursday 26th April GED KIELTY IS THE 'NEW' MANAGER OF TRAFFORD FC
Trafford Football Club are pleased to announce that 31 year old Ged Kielty (left) Trafford's midfielder has been named as the new club manager, following in the footsteps of Danny Johnson who has
decided to moved up a level to join Unibond League Premier Division side Ashton United as their manager.
Ged started his football career as a youngster with Manchester City. He then moved on to Irish side Cork Ramblers returning to England to play for Southport, Barrow, Altrincham, Leigh RMI, Hyde United and after a 22 month 'retirement' he returned to football this season by joining Trafford.
Ged has also won International caps with the Eire Under 18's, a runners-up FA Trophy medal with Southport and a Unibond Premier League Championship medal with Altrincham.
Ged who was born in Urmston was voted last night's Trafford's Man of the Match by our opponents FC United in our magnificent 4-4 draw at Gigg Lane, takes charge for this Saturday's final game of the season at Silsden (Keighley) as Danny Johnson is away on business commitments (honest !).
The Chairman Tom Walmsley and his Board of Directors would again like to sincerely thank Danny for his three and a half years of intense hard work and dedication to the club and wish him 'all the best' for the future. The board would also like to wish Ged every success in the future with his new project as 'Manager of Trafford Football Club'.
