Latest is Julian Dicks appointed as their 3,000th manager this year. What is happening there, many on here have applauded Woodward due to his support over Robinson but has he really got it in him to run a club and do the best for that team and its supporters.
I like going to Grays, decent people etc, and a great chief steward, but really what is happening, seems like gradual implosion.

Lets hope they sort things out after our visit on Saturday.  An Alty win on Saturday would continue a pretty solid start to the season....

I think Micky Woodward has finally left the building so to speak and it's now in the hands of John Moncur and someone else, hence the Dicks appointment.

Good for us on the one hand as I get the impression he'll be a sh*te manager but so tough for us to have to face him in his first game . I'm sure it happens to us more than other clubs, wasn't there something like 6 managers whose first game was against Alty last year, in fact 6 out of 8 games at one point I think??

When I started senior school I occasionally attended games at Chesterfield FC with a friend who followed the Spireites in the late 1970s............I remember the crowd chanting "Cox-out" everytime the then manager Arthur Cox made his way from the tunnel to the dugout !

I remember my dear late brother once telling me that a couple of lads in the front row at Alty Grammar were chatting and one of the teachers shouted out their names (First name made up) "Master Anderson, Master Bates!"

A mind numbingly boring goalless draw. They had their nine goal thriller last week.

I think a draw is likely, and I'd be satisfied with that.

Its nil nil and a poor alty performance is compunded by an injury to nicky clee however a last min corner is headed towards goal by young, the keeper looks odds on but it squirms through his hands, alty win the three points and the keeper is left with football pie all over his face.
