London to Alty for Thursday - a spare car seat?
« on: November 11, 2012, 11:13:58 AM »

I think the title pretty much sums up what I'm asking. Are there any Alty-exiles living in the big smoke who have a spare seat in their car for the match on Thursday and back down Thurs or Fri? I really don't fancy another coach journey and it'd be nice to travel with others. I'm based around Stoke Newington but can get anywhere in London for any time on Thursday if there's a chance of a seat. Even better if you're coming back down Thursday night or Friday at some point.

Thanks in advance!

Ste

P.S. Obviously I'd share petrol costs.
P.P.S. I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but I've got a cracking 80s megamix ready for just such a journey.

I'm afraid to say the official London Alty Turbo Pimper is not making the Moss Lane run on Thursday.

Your only hope is that the People's Front of London Alty exist and are on the move.

"Turbo-Pimper?"

...I can't say I'd have accepted an invitation to ride that.

We've procured a tidy little boozer in the City for Thursday night so if your lift up doesn't work out then welcome to join us.

The Turbo pimper can't be knocked though.

Tidy little boozer eh?! Well, if I can't make the pilgrimage there should be a number of us looking for an Alty-friendly watering hole somewhere central. Where are you thinking? I'll let the guys know. The more bodies we have the more likely we'll get commentary with our moving pictures.

Oh they'll be at least 10 of us there, probably more, and the groundwork was done with the landlord on Friday night, this gaff has ESPN and will show the game for us, no probs.

It's the One Tun in Farringdon, 3 minutes from the tube station.  Always good to hear of more Alty fans in that London.

Absolutely love the fact that there will be a boozer full of Alty in London on Thursday.

What would Danny Dyer make of that!

We've got an unbeaten record for TV games I've seen down the pub in London-the Lee (spit) Elam inspired 1-1 draw at Rushden which we also watched in the One Tun and the 2-2 with Woking during Ryan Shotton's famed loan period which we watched in the Railway by Liverpool Street. The landlord in the One Tun is a big Spurs fan but a sound fella.

Hopefully after our glorious victory on Thursday night we can all get a bit lemon and get stuck into his choice single malt range ;D

I'm moving to London shortly and oddly enough will be house hunting on Thursday. I had been worried about rushing back in time to catch it in the box, but this could be a handy alternative  ;D

Good area for boozers, Farringdon. Just a pain half of them close on the weekend.

I'll get an agenda prepared.

Do we have a volunteer to take minutes?
