Graham Tobin

TOBIN! TOBIN! TOBIN!

unfairly denied legendary status by hardly ever getting picked, graham tobin lives on in the hearts and senile minds of the grass bank skins (grown their hair) (retired)

oh, i thought we were discussing someone called Peter's tackle.....

Anyway, Peter Densmore get in my top alty squad of all time... (25)

Goalkeepers: George Smith, Willie Mailey & John (Charlie) Connaughton
Right backs: Densmore & Allan
Centre Halves: D Halliwell, John Owens, Mal Bailey, Nellie Dewar, Graham Tobin
Left backs: Ivan Crossley, John Davison (1)
Midfeild: Frank Peters, J King, G Heathcote, G Barrow, J Davison (2)
Forwards/Wingers: G Smith (I think), Barry Howard, Ian Morris, JJ, Frank Carradous, John Rodgers , Paul Showler, Jack Swindells.
Utility players!  Les Campbell, Phil Gardner.

Any better offers? discuss.....
this might keep the tread going for a while...

This squad would win the Conf, FA Trophy and always get to FA Cup 3rd Round, but probably always lose to the green scum!

Do you mean Ronnie Smith?

Pat might not have been the best player in the world, but at least he tried. More than could be said for Joz Mitten, far, far wose than Patty Mc and day!

At a guess, I'd say less than a dozen

For some reason,I have the number 3 in my head as far as the answer to this question is concerned.

Yes, I thought it was very little, not quite sure how he qualifies for an all time Alty squad, good player though he was for other teams. Local lad wasn't he? Did he go to Bradbury, I'll ask my old man next time I speak to him.

Flynny,

I have Frank Carrodus as playing 3 (+1 as sub) games for Alty during the 1969/70 season.
I believe that his full appearances comprised one NPL match; one NPL Cup fixture and one North West Floodlit League game.

He returned to Moss Lane for a brief spell during the 1986/87 season, adding two appearances as a substitute in GMVC matches and 1 (+1 as sub) appearances in cup competitions.

Incidentally, I saw him in Hale Village the other week....

if you didnt know he was a good player why put him down as the worst player ever to pull on an alty shirt.
Nicky Daws would walk into our current team and he would be on the edge of most peoples all time squad.

i still suspect i have been caught hook line and sinker here
