Late Substitutions
« on: October 13, 2007, 04:29:14 PM »

Last Tuesday Alty were under alot of pressure at the end of the game and we had one sub left to use.

Apparently today we clearly must have been under alot of pressure at the end and had at least one sub to use.

Why do we not use these subs to break up the play? It was just too late today, should have been done at 3-1 or even 3-2 but not at 3-3.

Do GH / DS forget about the bench sometimes?

In fact from looking at the stats we didnt use any subs until it was 3-3.

Still a great result but we really need to be smarter I feel.

I believe we tried to bring Munro on for Dean at 3-2 but the linesman wouldn't let us.

We gave away a three goal lead. These things happen in football. Let's move on, a point at Salisbury is more than I expected for sure. GH doesn't like to use subs, we all know that, but maybe there's a lesson in this game he'll learn.
I think today, the lads will be more gutted than the fans. We've still only lost one in six competitive games and things are not nearly as bad as they were. Also, our new striker actually scored a goal, so all in all not a night to be drowning in our pint glasses. That would have been if we'd lost!

I remember years back when channel4 was showing Italian football that teams like Juve and Milan would make a sub in about the 88th minute just to waste a bit of time
