Hi,
I have written a book about my experiences in Non-League football, the different clubs ive played for since I started playing football in my hometown of Guernsey. From Signing schoolboy forms at Southampton and Bournemouth then being unable to obtain a YTS after numerous trials. This led me to Morecambe where i joined the acadamy and went onto the first team. The book includes the many clubs ive played for to the present 07/08 Season.
The book is called Zico: An Autobiography of a Non-League Footballer which is available at: www.authorhouse.co.uk/BookStore/ItemDetail~bookid~49598.aspx
As Non-League supporters I hope you will enjoy the many different stories and my journey in the Non-league.
Thanks Zico

Oh, I know he is real. I've seen him be moderate for a few clubs against us.
Just wondered why anyone would want to read a book on him? Good luck to him though..it might do well.
I can already hear the cult typing away with Alty players book titles.....

To be fair, Ive always wanted to know more about how non-league footballers motivate their career through various levels of the pyramid. How the whole process runs, if they care about the clubs they sign for, what influences their choice of clubs and vice-versa.
Obviously every player is different in their reasons, but fair play to him for giving it a go.
I wonder how many people will get home from waterstones, excited about reading tales of street football in the favellas and lighting up the maracana with sexy football only to be shocked by the poor quality of half-time oranges at the giant axe!

Fred Eyre did it first.

Fair enough I suppose.

One of my daughter's is getting me this book for my birthday. As when I was the North West Youth League's Manager RYAN ZICO BLACK was one of the 1st names on the team sheet as a very good player for Morecambe Youth. I willbe interested to read where it all went wrong.

I remember playing against him for Chorley against Morecambe.

Mister Heslop,
Has your daughter checked that there is a large print version available though?
At least you can always use that telegram from The Queen as your bookmark.....
P.S. Any sign of those programmes from Ebbsfleet and Weymouth?
