It is going to cost the club £15000 to upgrade the electrical system so we can all have chips again - woohoo.

Instead of needing electricity, why dont we try and locate that redundant generator that was at the Marston Arena???????

The girl who works in the snack bar told me they lose about 300 quid a match due to having no chips.. That alone would pay half the bill for the electric supply to be sorted if you sell 300 quids worth each game at home....  Could we not get barney to chuck em over the wall when he has cooked em.... ;) :)

That may be the case, however I think the problem may be the electricity company wanting £15,000 all at once, they don't as far as I'm aware run payments schedules pro rata to how many chips are bought.

I'd seriously consider the generator idea. If connett had one that powered floodlights surely we can get something that can get a deep fat fryer on the go?

How much would a generator cost to hire for a weekend? Bearing in mind it would probably need to be delivered Friday and Taken back on Monday.

How many portions of chips do you need to sell to cover the cost of the hire and then to make a profit to make it worthwhile?

Hiring a generator is not practical.

I am surprised that a bloody deep fat fryer would blow the fuses / circuits etc .. Its not as if the strain on the system would be that great. ... Thank fk we dont have to light up blackpool illuminations eh??

I'm sure your average household deep fryer wouldn't put that big a strain on the supply. However, I would imagine we'd need something on a slightly more industrial scale to cater for 1,000 football fans.

If 15 grand is going to be spent on anything right now I reckon it should go on the playing squad and ensuring our survival. In the long run, improving the range of food at the snack bar is a good idea but hardly the most pressing priority.

It's a moot point anyway because we don't have 15 grand just sitting around waiting to be spent!   :D

Agree, but my take is that the club were possibly badly advised that the new upgraded lights required more juice than the probable 60's cable in provided. If the lights take all and other things have to shut down it is essential work to replace this, expensive as it is. We play top level NL football, we need the necessary facilities. Lets get safe this season, and focus on getting basics right after that.

It's quite scandalous that club playing at the top level of non-league football can't provide chips. Surely earlier kick-offs would solve the problem?

Apart from volume issues I think we are still looking for a basic need for some power for such means of cooking.
