That's what I thought about having to rearrange the Darlington game. Why bother? Just give them the three points and save anyone from having to travel on a Tuesday night only to watch another capitulation.

We've got to keep going until it's mathematically done. The gravity of this relegation is not like slipping out of the conference to the north. I note last week there was a national league juniors tournament at the club. We won't be a national league club any more. No BT. Money, no central funding, no national league community funding, no premier league solidarity payment, no share of the playoff final gate. We've have to fight with every last breath to get out of this.

Better tell the players.....
-
1-1 possibly sub 800 crowd ?
-
I simply can't find 11 players to select for this match. All I know is that none of the teams in this thread will score.
-
1-1 possibly sub 800 crowd ?
2 1 loss 999 at the game

That's an approach that should be from the top down and it just isn't happening. It's just one sorry embarrassment after another that is prolonging the suffering (although in truth, I'm almost numb to it at this stage) for all before the inevitable fall into the abyss. If we escape from this I'll eat my own arse.

Admirable sentiment Pete, but I gave up hoping after the lame capitulation at home to BPA in October. I suspect the board and players weren't far behind me.

I'll even suck it through a straw.

If its that big get a red and white shirt on, bend over and bung up the goal.

Harrogate's manager is having a go at our pitch in his pre match comments!!
I really have heard it all now. Please lets beat these tossers, surely one home win isn't too much to ask in a season.

Yes that that is the spirit. Come on Matt- lead the young Alty lions and tear Harrogate a new one. It's time we put a marker down and decide that we are not going to get turned over by a bunch of tea room waiters!
Well that's my rallying call for the day over.
-
Let's get them done today and our pitch ain't placky so it's normal
-
Any club with a fake, plastic unnatural pitch, can piss right off if they have a pop at a natural grass playing surface.
Cheeky t**t.
-
' Difficult pitch ' ....cheeky git, if you think ours is difficult then they can't have been to Chorley yet.
Let's ram these words down his 3G plastic throat.

The blokes a Dickhead. There pitch had a bigger slope than moss lane bridge just a few seasons ago. If our pitch is good enough for Man united Reserves and under 18s to play on it is certainly good enough for that Yorkshire T**t Weaver's lot to play on. f**king ridiculous thing to say.
-
The daft c*nt is clearly preparing himself in case his precious funded team lose to the sh*ttest team in this league and others below. It actually gives me hope that we could nick something or am I a dreamer?
-
Proper tool
-
Proper tool
Don't need tools on a plastic fake pitch.
-
"How can I expect my players to perform on a grass pitch".. Just getting his excuses ready...
Well done on the draw ALTY.
-
Simple Simon Weaver. f**k off back over the Pennines to your plastic pitch and your plastic club. Wanker.....
Well done Alty

Our first double of the season - first team we've played twice without losing >:(

Fair point that.
-
about 740 hardy souls turned up today...40 odd away fans.....staggering amount....
seriously if fylde or Salford backers pulled out and they were on 9 points at this stage what would be the home crowd v Harrogate plastic nobodys???
-
A dreadful game of football I don't think we tested either keeper .
Couple of great saves from tim apart from that they were awful as well
No atmosphere in the ground anymore so very sad
-
f**kem game over no shot on goal
-
A clean sheet. No goals conceded because for once everyone put a shift in and their bodies on the line. No shortage of effort today.
Bub
-
Fair doos today not a shot on target tho
-
And they replaced there goal keeper with a reserve one
-
I really don't expect us to score with the crap we have up front, but this thing about having no shots on target is getting a bit tedious.
-
Is this our first clean sheet since Stalybridge away on 8/10/16??
-
f**k me what a result that was!!!!! This club is thriving
-
Tedious! Its a fact.
We play our most creative player at lb and we never test thier keeper.
Worse first half of football ive ever witnessed. They improved a tad 2nd half but still fekking sh*t.
-
Probably the worst game of football I've ever seen.
-
Thriving. MD will bleat on about how unlucky we were not to win blah blah blah
-
Clee at left back and Reeves on the bench . We have thrown the towel in
-
well we didn't get tonked - this makes a refreshing change.
The new lad looked ok at times - certainly could run - a new signing that is match fit - unusual for us.
I didn't understand why Clee was left so long at LB - why not swap at half time? - instead we allowed the away team their usual 20 minutes of domination after the break. Luckily for us their finishing was crap although Tim made a couple of good saves.
Why didn't we try Micah and Reeves up front for the last twenty?
We aren't going to win any games with our woeful lack of shooting.
Still I thought JC did well today.
-
I stopped turning up after we failed to register a single shot on target at Stockport and Chorley. It's not worth paying to watch.
-
I went to see my friends mainly lots of missing faces today .. you can't blame them can you
The football at times from both sides was Sunday leauge
We better get used to it
The highlight was an offside free kick being given in our own half
Can't wait to see the standard of official next season
-

This is the ONLY reason I go now. After a hard week at work I go for a few beers and to catch up with mates. I used to enjoy the football too but now 3pm is just an annoying addiction that I just can't shake! ROWLEY OUT!!
-
Only reason I went was to catch up with some mates from Harrogate, I'm done now, need changes at board level, GR think about it man!

Using the logic that people should only post if they attend matches, this forum is going to be a pretty quiet place moving forward... ;D

Yes, but there are a lot of moaners on here that have temporarily withdrawn their support.
In my opinion today was a decent amount of effort in a low quality game. We were the match of Harrogate which is a great shame considering our league position compared with theirs.
This season is lost but I am happy to turn up and applaud where merited. I play squash every Friday and get beaten by the other guys in the group. If I give my all I can do no more. The fact is I'm not good enough but a lot of the time I don't turn up mentally. Not turning up is unforgiveable for someone who is being paid but today was not the case.
-
I thought today was a fair improvement on what's gone before. We've clearly shown that we can't go with an open approach to games and try and play a game of football against the opposition because we often find ourselves 2 or 3 goals down. We are bottom of the league. The first thing we need to do is make it difficult for teams to score against us. We done that today so I would see it as a SLIGHT improvement as to what's gone before.
-
Yes, but there are a lot of moaners on here that have temporarily withdrawn their support.
Temporarily ? I can assure you that if I don't like what I hear tomorrow week I'll be gone permanently.

If he'd made a direct comment pertaining to a match he'd not attended I could see your point, but as this was not the case I find your post baffling at best.

Correct. It's also correct to say we can't afford to lose gate revenue.
The challenge for Mr. Rowley is to enthuse the fans in readiness for the glue league. There is a lot riding on the review and presentation.
-
I wouldnt hold your breath, Rowley won't change - he's got no reason to. He needs to go for any change to occur
-
He needs to go for any change to occur
I agree 100%.

Can we read anything into the absence of any chairman's column in the programme? I don't know, but it's strange in view of the impending review meeting, which, it just occurs to me, doesn't appear to have been mentioned in there either. Providing I haven't just missed it, I find that an incredible omission as not everyone has Internet and surely we want as many people as possible to be aware of this important meeting.
As for the game, it's a decent enough point in the current circumstances and I am sure we will hear how vital the clean sheet is, but unlike Tim Deasy, neither Harrogate goalkeeper was stretched. Credit to John Cyrus for his bravery and commitment.

Not really other than the chairman is a sh*thouse - he dosen't want as many people there at all, he wants to keep it quite - has no balls and nothing to say in the programme
He is a cancer within the club

Somebody's worked wonders to compile two minutes and 29 seconds of 'highlights' from that dross.
Unquestionably one of the most abysmal football matches that I have had the misfortune to attend:

Unquestionably one of the most abysmal football matches that I have had the misfortune to attend:
Indeed it was Barry. It reminded me of a pre-White and Swales fixture from the 1950s (yes I do go back that far!). There was not a single positive to be taken from that game, though no doubt the fact that we won a point and kept a clean sheet will be seen as a result. That Harrogate were as dire as we were and presented us with no opposition whatsoever will be entirely missed. But for Tim Deasy we would even have lost to that dross.
Yes, we put some effort in but we have done that on many occasions this season - what we are still lacking is talent and organisation. How we can go 90 minutes without a single shot on target is beyond me - and that's just yesterday's match. Matt Doughty is as clueless as the previous encumbents in the managerial chair this season but we should be ok for next season. Our chairman will probably appoint one of his assistants - Mr Heathcote or Mr Lawton anyone?
-
I don't see how you can comment on a match that you weren't at
-
I agree, which is why I didn't. My comments related to matches I DID attend.
-
The number of empty spaces in the car park at 2.55 was telling, as was the number of regulars who i didnt notice at the game.
Funereal atmosphere, woeful match. If a nil nil draw playing like that is seen as an improvement then it shows how low we have sunk.
This club needs a total overhaul and a huge injection of new personnel, energies, ideas and mindsets if the rot is to stop. That is the message the board needs to send next Sunday but I doubt it will happen.
-
I went to see my local team yesterday, who many on here will recall-Fisher FC. Now back in their spiritual home of the Docklands after years away. Bumped into Jimmy Hill there, short conversation about Alty, both worked out neither of us would bother attending another game this season. The most important thing left for us now is the Review next Sunday.

No, they haven't played there for a few years. The reformed club have now got a ground on Salter Road, which is the same road as the ground we have played on, but I believe it's a completely different site

Exactly. The new ground is on the opposite side of the same street only a few hundred yards from the original which is now housing. Stunning views of Canary Wharf as the backdrop to the new ground which is known as St Paul's. Fairly basic maybe 250 seater main stand and cover behind one goal with other two sides completely open.

Talks about the pitch a lot
-
Supporters are not missing. Supporters are boycotting, and will be doing until this
Chairman steps down. That is the only way the supporters will unite behind club once more. It is not a witch hunt, it is wanting culpability for failure, and wanting to see the 'football' club where it should be.
-
I used to get irritated by managers constantly referring to their "football club" during interviews.
Now that we're more of a "community asset" I see where those guys are coming from.
-
As if Harrogate's pitch was always a bowling green? Remember going there couple of years ago, and it resembled a lake.
-
And now its plastic.
Needs ripping out in my view.

he makes a fair point. On the pitch point is it that bad really or is it better than last year ?
-
It's grass, not fake and is therefore susceptible to weathering. The ref has the final say on its safety and game worthiness, so it is the same for both teams.
If Harrogate choose to train and play on plastic, then struggle on grass its their fault and nobody else's.
They can do one.
-
Was wondering if it was holding up better than the old one

The pitch is fine. Partly due to the fact thar the ball is very rarely on it!
