Would it cost to buy Altrincham lock stock and barrel?

£200 to £300k but that's not counting the ground as an asset. Probably around £2 million if you were.

If you had the funds then I reckon you would need a minimum 10 year plan putting in between £100000-£200000 a year.

Lol this is the problem, as a business it is worth nothing apart from the value of its assets (players and ground) as like most clubs it does not make any profit.

I think the last post is right, gg would step aside for someone willing to invest around the level of my first post. The ten-year plan is a bit naïve but I'm sure gg has said that someone would need to be prepared to invest longish term before he sold to them.

Why did someone get six numbers last night?

The ground itself can never really be counted as an asset because the land is owned by the council.  We can only count the value of the lease to the council, along with fixtures and fittings.  But there are also liabilities and as a going concern the club is not really profitable.  So in real terms the club is not actually worth much at all.  The issue of any new owners being agreed would probably depend on what they pledge to invest.
