Ironic Company address.

Alas, Boxing Day afternoon looks increasingly likely to be spent watching The Great Escape on BBC2....

There, but for the grace of God, go us...?

Remember the stories of a proposed ground move for Alty circa the Gerry Berman era?

Thank goodness that the Council owned Moss Lane rather than one individual a la Connett.

We were on MOTD when we got to 3rd round against Darlington a few years back. :)
1st round that mate

Actually, it was the FA Cup Second Round!

Huddersfield Town at Moss Lane in November 1990 was broadcast live on a Sunday afternoon by BSB.

P.S. Why is anyone keen to visit Matlock Town?
Been there, done that in the 1970s.
It usually rained.....and we usually lost.

Farsley Celtic are not playing on Saturday.

Their scheduled  game at Woking was moved forward to Thursday evening for Setanta coverage.

Their next fixture is Droylsden away on Tuesday.

"It was a great day," said Goodwin. "I'm lost for words really. It was a good turnout and I'm really pleased that all the celebrities got involved to help such a good cause.

"Hopefully it will put this club back on the map."

I hadn't realised that we had slipped off it....!

Has anyone out there got any newspaper articles/reports relating to the above game, which Alty won 1-0 courtesy of a Mick Fagan goal?

If so, please contact me.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

The alleged post match scenes sound, ahem, interesting....

Agree with Ecky.

Perhaps the recent (justified, in my book) criticism has even actually had a positive effect by galvanising the management and players?

Farsley drew 1-1.

Only three points behind them now.

Peyton: "a brilliant left footed strike" according to the BBC Southern Counties reporter.

According to the Sporting Life summary, Peyton's was the only shot on target from either side.

Marvellous!

Splendid news.

Need Ebbsfleet to win at Farsley now (kick off was delayed there).

Occasional update from Crawley, too.

Defending throw-in by Richard Acton (Altrincham).

And who said GH was "over cautious"...?!
