I thought it didn't look right when I typed it! Never mind, at least it cheered you all up for at little while after the last 2 games!!

Goodwin duly awarded!

Hmm, I'm delighted that Ryan Shotton is coming back but my slight worry is that good a player as he is, and a nice lad as well, even when he was here the defence has shipped goals, it's not as if we were watertight before he went back to Stoke is it?

Ballers,

As some chap called Meatloaf once sang, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Shotton is a promising prospect but he's not exactly Alessandro Nesta.

It's simple...........we have to start winning home games, or else we will go down!  :'(

23 games to go.

10 at home and 13 away.

And of those 13 away fixtures, four are against teams that are currently in the top 5 positions in the league.

I think Whalley has undoubted class, but he need to take his head out of his backside and realise that he's not playing league football anymore, that you don't get time on the ball at this level and that you will get a kick. The sooner he realises this, understands that he can be the biggest player at this club (on previous career to date) then maybe he'll get himself up for it,and stop trying to be a pre-madonna..

I'm sorry for being a pedant......but this is easily one of my favourite ever misspellings on this forum!

The only positive for me was that I was too ill to attend the game and, therefore, was spared the misery of witnessing our TENTH defeat in 13 home league games this season.

Frankly, an appalling record.

Where's the accountability for this endless torment?

quite poorly, I imagine they are all in there late 50's

most in 40s i guess the likes of peter conning about 41/42-and i bet he still plays to some degree

When Peter Conning attended the "Birmingham 20" commemoration event in January 2006, he didn't look a day older than when he  last played for the Robins in 1986!

In my opinion GH should not go. The reson being look what he has done for the club. He got us promoted into the conference, then we were sent down by a technicality, which has nothing too do with the manager.

Incorrect.
He was the secretary at the time and it was his (admitted) administrative  error.

Last year we were relegated by one point.

It may have only been by one point.....but we still finished in the relegation zone.

This year, gh gets us to the first round of the FA Cup, which was the first time in 6 years.

A streaky 1-0 win over a Kendal Town side from two leagues below us is hardly one of football's great achievements.

Then you need to look at it this way, GH knows the history of Alty, if a new manager came, they possibly wouldnt have a clue about us, and then send us back into dept, becasue as im sure you are all aware these finacial problems seem to occur, when new managers are brought in

Nonsense.
The Board sets the budget...with which any manager must comply.

SO untill then please support out fight for relegation!

Shouldn't that read "our fight AGAINST relegation"?!

"Altrincham FC have signed, on one-month loans, two players from Rotherham United. They are central defender Liam King, who played against Alty in a pre-season friendly for the Millers."

Oh Lord, didn't we score FIVE that day?!

I'm sure that it was a one-off!

Let's pray that they have a similar impact to the loan players who have helped to rejuvenate Vics.

If you check the report, It seems he came on when we had already scored the 5 goals.

Thank God for that!

We didn't play on Tuesday...it was Wednesday......we didn't play then either!!

Mister Flynn,

Well spotted!

I'm still in a state of post-traumatic shock after yesterday's debacle and literally don't know what day it is....

Drrrrrinnnnkkkkk!

Nevertheless, he has put together a team that is neither good enough, nor wears the shirt with pride. 100% his call I'm afraid.

Spot on.

Nine defeats in 12 home games in the league.

Responsibility.
Accountability.

Both absent at Moss Lane.

I am worried that if anyone else comes in that they would put us in a financial mess.

Why?
Surely the Board sets the budget and any manager has to adhere to it.

A job that I believe no other non-league manager could do.

On what evidence do you base this assumption?

I know we can't attract players on the lowest wage in the league

Do you know this to be a fact?

P.S. The game was on Tuesday!

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: GH and the supporters?
« on: December 27, 2007, 08:54:25 PM »

GH always maintains that he wants to play a passing game & gets cheesed off when the team disobey & start walloping the ball long.

But this excuse is getting a bit thin by now.

He needs to find some players who follow instructions!

Altrincham FC First Team / Two short term solutions?
« on: December 27, 2007, 05:32:32 PM »
(1) A severe Siberian 'cold snap' descends on the country for the next four weeks and results in frozen pitches and the postponement of all our scheduled fixtures, thereby allowing us breathing space to assemble a radically different team prior to playing our next match;

(2) Hughesy and Ecky go into the home dressing room and give a 'motivational' team talk to the players before the Stevenage game commences.

From what I saw there was a hardish tackle on someone and Senior turned around and threw a punch at the Vics player who relatiated and tried to punch and headbut Senior.

But I may be wrong.

Jenga,

No, you're not wrong.

Senior threw a punch at the Vics player and (being at a height disadvantage!) caught him just below the throat.

The Vics player then retaliated with an attempted headbutt.

Both players had to be dismissed in my view.

Alas, the absence of Senior will hurt us more.
