Great - it's the best Oxford have played for months.  We didn't play Vics until they were on a bit of form.  When we will get someone on a bad day :(

We did.
Weymouth at Moss Lane!

If the results had been the same as ours at a lot of other clubs, he would have been hounded out by now.  I think a good proportion of our fans have been largely quite supportive in the circumstances, and appreciate the limitations that the manager has faced.

All managers get stick from Wenger and Fergie downwards.  GH is no different and he should realise that.

After losing ten out of 13 league matches at Moss Lane to date this season, what does he seriously expect - to be carried triumphantly along George Street on the shoulders of adoring disciples?

Alty's supporters have exhibited remarkable tolerance during a largely miserable first half of the season.

Nobody is demanding that he should lead Alty to the play-offs.

All we ask is to finish in 20th place and then GH will receive due acclaim.

I really do miss not being able to get to the matches, seeing Alty players coming out of the Vics club before the games we used to have against them in the Cheshire league, and staggering through the game and i dont mean Jackie Swindells

Are you referring to Johnny Worth, by any chance?

And if anyone had any doubt that GH was hurt as much as us on Boxing Day then his reaction at the end should have dispelled that. He was as extatic as we were. I think a few of the players were told they were playing for their futures at the club and it showed.

Surely it's not just some of the players whose future at the club is in question?

Carl Dyson?

Willie Bell?

Simon Gresty?

Why is everyone upset at the prospect of relegation. We will be able to stand at both ends and play Hyde,Stalybridge.Droylsden,Northwich and Witton Albion. No more long journeys to southern scum teams. All in all a good prospect: but we must keep GH and the current players to make sure it happens, plus the reject loan players should help.

Go on, admit it.

You're Geoff Goodwin, aren't you...?

« on: December 31, 2007, 12:23:16 PM »
This was written for last Saturday's programme (and compiled before Dalton's unexpected departure).

I hope it raises a smile or two during what has been a rather depressing week for the Alty faithful.

No doubt George Heslop's lawyer is already preparing his writ (again)....

ALTRINCHAM FC CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME 2007

Right, I’m now heading off to secure the urgent services of a barrister who specialises in defending libel suits…..

Happy New Year to all those who love Altrincham FC.

I seem to recall that our present manager has had one or two 'disagreements' with supporters at Moss Lane over the years...!
