I wonder if we'll try and rearrange this match for next Saturday, subject to Halifax still being in the Trophy?

I better find something else to do tomorrow afternoon now........must say, I wasn't expecting it. Snow on the fields here in Urmston / Davyhulme has almost completely gone

Isn't it more likely the pitch is or will be waterlogged? Most of the snow surely would have melted by KO tomorrow.

The pitch is almost totally covered in snow right now.  Probably will have gone by tomorrow if the thaw continues but as Hale says, the pavements and road are now awash and my guttering is like Niagara Falls

I've asked the question as to whether Trafford FC's game against Curzon Ashton is on tomorrow.  If Urmston is clear, there is perhaps a chance it will be on.  I'll update as I find out for anyone at a loss, and looking for a footy fix.

Fax don't play Dartford till next Tuesday (Aldershot are due to play Fax on 7 Feb if they're not in the Trophy) so although we might try the position won't be clear for several days; the League might or might not play ball with provisional arrangements, too - I suspect they have the power to refuse a re-arranged date. Don't hold your breath.
I am a little surprised that the decision to postpone was taken quite so early, but perhaps Aldershot were travelling at least part of the way up today.

Apparently they had already set off.....leaving Aldershot around 11am.

Sounds like it would have been an ideal day to put Shots' fans in the away end, treating them in the same manner as they treated us ;)

does it not have to be a fact to call a game off, not just more likely

Odd postponement - league rules need to be tightened up

Maybe were tired again

It is very seldom, if ever a FACT when a match is postponed or not.

More often, in fact most times, it is an opinion whether the pitch will or won't be playable at a particular time and date.

Aldershot were travelling today so surely it makes more sense to stop them and potentially save them some dosh when, in the opinion of what was a quite senior referee the pitch would not be playable tomorrow.

I bet people on here would kick off royally if the boot were on the other foot and we were allowed to travel down to a game (with overnight stay) which had no chance of being played
