Some sort of record ?

In the Spanish Segunda Division, Burgos CF made it 7 consecutive clean sheets for the season so far. Unfortunately there is a slight problem :

They'd still be three points in front of us with three games in hand! 😉

Parky always used to say judge me after we've played ten games.

Probably not the case this season.

I'm assuming nobody has ever finished on no goals for or against. Well, possibly in some chairman's dogwalker's cup group stage. I did wonder what would happen with two teams with no goals against finishing level on points in the goal average days - goals scored presumably as both would be a goal average of infinity if they had scored any.

Spaking of records, what is the record number of away draws in the FA Cup? We must be going on for our record at least!

In the last FA Cup draw in which we participated, we were drawn at home to Charlton Athletic.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to overcome Gateshead...

And unfortunately Langstaff hadn't yet moved to Notts.

It was when we were drawn at home that some of us feared the worst for the replay!

Last night Burgos travelled to Villarreal B, whose previous 7 games had featured 23 goals. Not another 0-0 surely ? Well actually, yes ! Eight consecutive clean sheets. There were 24 goal attempts in the game, but only four on target, just one of them from Burgos. The saga continues next Saturday at home to second placed Alaves...

Sounds like they're in urgent need of a goal scoring number nine. Do you think they'd be interested in Dinanga (or Hulme?) 😏

Burgos have got SOME defence - and today they found their shooting boots, beating Alaves 3-0. NINE consecutive cleans sheets and counting.....
