next seasons strip
« on: January 16, 2008, 09:29:46 AM »

One or two people have suggested various changes of strip over the last few weeks.
I would like to see us revert to the old red and white quarters that were used when I first became an Alty addict (late 1940s). That would be really unusual these days. How many other teams play in quarters?
I think Flynny wore one of these probably last year, didn't think he was old enough to remember them as Alty strip.

i think it's the away kit thats changing this year not the home one. we only got that this year, so for a new away kit i would like a yellow one again like the one we had in our promotion season (possibly the best away kit we've had).

It must have been a different kit or a different person as I don't have any kit that is quarters.

The home kit will remain the same as part of a 2 year deal with Prostar and Sensport Kits. The away kit is due for renewal for season 2008/09, currrent options of shirts can be seen at www.prostar.co.uk, although there will be 3 new design's for next season.

i still think the best kit we had in recent years was the all white with red trimming on the sleeves a shorts that was worn in the Kevin Hulme/ Mark Sertori season.

You might think Im taking the mick here, but seriously, I think the new strip should have two stars above the club badge, to represent our two confernce titles. It would be a constant reminder of the history and traditions the club. And it would wind some people up like crazy, I think it really has to be considered. We have won the top prize in the non-league game on two occasions and been refused promotion, and this should be shown by two stars on future kits.

Thanks Ian, I will, and hopefully support will grow for this idea, not many clubs have won this league TWICE, and TWICE been refused promotion,The stars on kits above the club badge would be a fitting tribute.

I think conference league titles over trophy wins, its a bigger achievement,in my humble opinion of course.

Fantastic idea!

I can imagine the reaction of certain Nuneaton/Kettering/Southport fans now.

Its a very good idea.

This club is often not proud enough of its achievements.
