Whatever their views privately, they can't put a statement out like this!

See sneaky Peake is up to his old tricks..

Quote
“While Board member Colin Peake went out on blog sites and forums commenting on Salisbury.

“This is completely unacceptable and totally unprofessional.

It's the same old story. Very sorry for the fans etc., but the club has lots of previous for this sort of thing relatively recently and the people in charge there (whoever the courts eventually decide they are at the moment) could have avoided this months ago and deserve all they get. Sorry.

The bottom line Salisbury FC is simple. If you lived within your means you would still be playing in the Conf Prem.

You chose not to do this so you pay the consequence. Its not the league committee's fault or anyone else other than the creatures who were running Salisbury FC.

I feell very sorry for the genuine Salisbury fans.

If you don't own the club you can't represent it without approval of the owners. Great quote: "our transfer of ownership will be completed 24 hours later unapposed" - Sorry but that means precisely nothing until such time as you turn up at Court and see who's there.

This is my favourite: “Let us not forget that while Salisbury were the unfortunate victims of a complete fraudster if the Conference and FA's pathetic and farcical fit and proper persons test hadn't been in operation he wouldn't have been able to take control of the club in the first place."

Hilarious, to paraphrase "Because we didn't do our job properly and ask for true bona fides of the first sugar daddy to turn up and pay off the debts we ran up to secure our lofty position AGAIN, it's the FA's fault". This is the same as selling your house on a handshake and on finding out the buyers weren't who they said they were turning round and blaming the Land Registry!

Plainly the Conference got sick of this Club and it's representatives and pulled the rug from under them. Those that visted Salisbury on a midweek night a few years ago for that 4-1 defeat will be shedding few tears. The true fans of which others speak can build the club up from the bottom, the others who attended to see a winning team irrespective of how it was achieved can go back to watching SSN on a Saturday instead.

It's like being outraged for being evicted from your house for not paying your mortgage.

But at times isn't it also true that the actions of both the FA and the Conference board

"... are a disgrace, they are unfit to govern, they are a total embarrassment to the game they claim to represent."

You look at the clubs who have been chucked out of the conference in the past;

Chester and Halifax: Back in national division, stable (ish)
Darlington,Scarborough,Northwich (1874), Canvey, Boston: Living within means and trying to work their way back up
Salisbury: Got back up to national in 2 seasons, still overspent, now suffering for it

As JTH says, those of us there for the 4-1 defeat have little sympathy with the club, just for the genuine fans who saw them first rise into the conference before the spending.

Perfectly put.  No sympathy at all from me.

We've had our moments in the past and paid a heavy price for them but these people use administration as part of the business plan. That's just not right.

Fans get punished again.

Fans see team win promotions and FA Cup runs without paying any tax.

Look a bit more closely at things will you.
