Bags of broken biscuits of all varieties. You used to be able to get them at Alty market; it's amazing where they turn up these days

Alty is a fine CLUB!
Does anyone get a TAXI to games?
Does the bar sell BOURBON?
Do you think any team will make a BREAKAWAY to win the league?

Should I go on?

Walter Bradbury's,  The Grocers up Mayors Road used to sell them and you could pick the ones you wanted... For what it's worth Walter's wife was a very good crown green bowler  ;)

Bloody hell, a mention for Bradburys at the bottom of Charter Road!  That was a shop of mystery to me when I was younger.

Do you remember Pendleburys?

Yep Pendlebury's was the butchers. Jackie Kemp was also a butcher (not sure if that was the same shop) if I am not mistaken. Also Thompsons at the top of  Manor Road as it was then and is now the set of Traffic lights/junction.

I went to school with a Jonathan Pendlebury who I think was the son of said butcher?

gazelle,

I seem to recall that John Pendlebury was actually a Director at Altrincham FC for a spell during the 1970s.
