Surely can't all be on holiday.

Where are the three strikers we've signed?
PP mentioned in his post match interview on Saturday that the three strikers we've signed aren't set in concrete due to unforeseen circumstances but I'd expect at least one of them to have made an appearance by now!
-
Sam Heathcote playing as a central striker according to our Twitter. Doesn't seem a good sign even at this early stage.

Unbeaten in the league and top of the table
Can't take that away from us

On a serious note though if the planned strikers are not going to come to fruition I hope Phil has something up his sleeve
-
I think he had Josh Amis up his sleeve as he was the big target man up front tonight (ex Stockport, ironically) although he wasn't particularly impressive, and I am not sure if he is a signing or a triallist.
I assume Tony Thompson in goal has signed, so he looks like very decent competition for Tim Deasy, and made some good saves in the second half, so, suddenly, strikers become my main concern. James Poole seems our most dangerous option up front, but, as others have saud, I think he is more of an atacking midfielder than an out and out striker.
-
Echo what others have said regarding the striker situation. Hopefully we can get some clear comms out. All a bit weird.

It would also be nice to know which of the players we were told we'd signed we have actually signed (i.e. are on a contract) and which ones are non-contract/triallists.

Yes that would be good to know. Id also like to know why Billy Hasler Cregg was playing last night? He's bobbins.

I thought hassler-cregg did ok last preseason, he was one of long list that did ok in preseason and we pretty much never saw again. Of the 12 engaged. 7 will be from last season. I'm not worried about trialists and people moving around just yet. I'd like to see a settled 11/16 in place from the Rhyl game onwards if that's possible. We've yet to see any of the three strikers, and it was rumoured last night that one has departed due to his work circumstances changing. Hopefully we will learn more today
-
I think that the striker in question was earmarked as first choice, so we really are back to square one now in terms of forwards. I know these things can't be helped, but I'm a little concerned that most of those lads who may have been available to us, have now signed up for other clubs.
-
If we have lost a striker due to a change in his circumstances, that's unfortunate. But where are the other two we've 'signed'?
-
Tom Peers was on holiday and Tomoli Omotola has an injury. No mention of Sefton Gonzales in JL's match report so I would guess that he is one that has left. Im not too fused about that because the Stockport fans thought he was useless.
-
That's the only conclusion that can be drawn. Oh well, we'll have to go back in to the market. I'm sure there's plenty still about. We're still sizeable enough to pull one from the league above or someone on loan such as the chap at Matlock last year. I see Clayton McDonald has also been released.
-
I interviewed the manager after the game, as per usual, and it should be on the website at around 7.15 pm. Hopefully, it provides a little clarity about the striker situation, though, as Phil says, there are one or two issues that are not yet resolved, and when it concerns targets he may want to sign, he has to be wary of saying too much. Correct, by the way, that Tom Peers has been on holiday but is due back before the end of the week and Tolani Omotola has just recovered from a hamstring injury.
-
PP says he'll have a final squad of 18-20 and according to the official site we already have 20. So presuming we add a striker and a goalkeeper plus maybe one successful trialist we can expect 3-5 departures out of the original 20. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if Phil is a better interviewee, but I've very much enjoyed the past two interviews

he speaks a lot of sense
I don't always see the need for so many interviews though sometimes
-
interviews are great and it is good to hear constructive and well thought out replies from seemingly an experienced practioner.
proof of the pudding willl be in the eating .

I agree Wayne. We are very professional in this aspect and we do fill up with output but there were times like after an 8th successive defea it was painful listening to Jim Harvey again.
And Doughty needed a microphone taking away from him for his own good.
