I distinctly remember Robbie Lawton coming right over to the perimeter fencing to front up after the 5-0 defeat at Eastbourne. Those days, and those types, are gone. I'm not saying the two results are comparable but we've still not had a word from Moult throughout this run. Programme column doesn't count, it's probably ghost written.

I said a few weeks back I can take or leave a Parky interview at this point. I would however really appreciate it if we could hear from some of our senior players. Let me put it plainly, this squad does not have anywhere near the connection with the fans that previous ones did. We need to do more to rebuild this. Results will obviously help, but I'd like to know more about how this has been for them. Maybe I'm on my own in that.

This 👌

Still. Nothing FROM PARKINSON

For me, the only we he needs to show he’s sorry is by picking the right bloody team and formation on Saturday, at least we’ll know he’s learned his lesson

Stubborn seems to be a word used quite a lot recently in relation to PP. I get the impression he reads this forum and takes very little onboard of the opinions of the supporters, which by the way, I have zero problem with. The problem I do have is that the opinions expressed on here and around the ground all seem to be one and the same, and that’s play your flipping players in their correct positions in a formation that they’re all understanding of!

My second issue seems to be that his recruitment is based on three things -

1- Played for Nantwich, a la Morgan, Mullarkey
2- Played for him previously - White, Hancock, Hulme, Osborne
3- A miles past his best journeyman - LS, Pringle, Furman

It’s like sentiment plays a massive part in his ability to want to retain players or re-sign players who he already knows. Look how offering EVERYONE new two year deals after promotion.

I might be in a minority here but it feels like PP is stuck in a rut after being here for so long, and he’s just hoping things turn without any real plan.

Don't agree with this I'm afraid.

Thompson
Senior
Colclough
Kosylo
Hampson
Jones
Smith
Mooney
Hulme
Poole
Durrell
Ceesay

Some of our best additions don't fit your criteria.

Sure there was an influx from his Nantwich squad in 2017/18, but why wouldn't there have been? It worked out pretty well. We added a couple more over time but again, why wouldn't a manager bring in a player he knows, if he thinks he's up to the task? At the end of the day it's gotten us to where we are and for that reason we shouldn't have anything but praise for the approach.

That said, it does seem that we are at a bit of a recruitment crossroads now - but the addition of Marriott is a good indication of what we're probably looking to do long term.

I was actually talking about this season though, hence all the players I mentioned. His recruitment had been first class up until promotion, but I feel after eighteen months at this level we’re no closer to having a different recruitment strategy.

Yes managers will always have players that have done well for them elsewhere and yes they’ll have players who follow them from club to club but ultimately, if he continues with players he knows, that well will soon run dry.

And let’s be right here, he got the cast offs from Salford when they went full time, the likes of Jordan, Poolie and JJ all came together as mates.

PP is a bonafide legend, the football we’ve played over the last five years has been brilliant to watch, but it’s the here and now that I’m bothered about.

There’s always a reason, and for me, that’s the recruitment that has been wrong over the last two seasons.

The only real problem as I see it here, and that’s if it’s true what I’ve been told, is that we’ve had to pay 100% of his Fylde wage, which apparently is in the region of £700/£800 per week. Now I know we’re desperate for a striker, and I mean absolutely desperate and I know that PP has got the likes of Fitzpatrick, Peersy and Dinanga off the books, but with EO and JH coming in on the money they are, the Jordan one is a HUGE risk on that kind of money.

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with these two, I think they’ll provide us with the ammunition we’ve been craving. Good luck boys

I think we’ll see movement in the next 24/48 hours, specifically Jamie Morgan from Chester on a free transfer. Fitzpatrick is apparently moving in the opposite direction but I’m told the reason behind the Morgan signing is due to us possibly selling Senior with a couple of clubs interested.

We could also potentially sign Hulme back depending on wether Fylde get their main target in, who appears to be Charman from Darlington.

😉

I think it's fair to say we got to enjoy Durrell at the very end of his peak and we should probably leave it there. Came, saw and conquered. We've absolutely no need for him anyway.
I think Hulme can be filed in that bracket too.

As an aside, both Jackson and Dinanga have been listed for either transfer or loan today.

We’re in for the lad just released by Chesterfield, Milan Butterfield, a big, strapping 6’3 central midfielder and also Jamie Stott, a left footed CB from County

JH was on less than a £1000 a week, still a mouth watering sum but less than £1000 nonetheless. His move back to us was a done deal until we realised how big his ban was and how much money he owed to Fylde and the FA for fines and costs of representation. He subsequently was offered a new deal on even less money at Fylde as to fill the void for what he owed them meaning we weren’t prepared to wait for his ban to end and pay the fine money etc.

James Hardy being let go apparently, shame as he looked like he had real genuine quality. That goal against KL was individually outstanding

Very clearly rated by Chester fans but I feel a little underwhelmed if that’s what we’re going for when you’d argue our strongest area of the pitch is the right side with Kosylo and Mooney. I’d have liked to have seen the money spent in other areas

I'm sick and tired of seeing us pass the ball backwards.

Would bring on Hancock for Bell and Kysolo for Williams.
I was thrilled when we could get hold of the ball to pass it anywhere. Good start then faded away. Hook Bell and put Hanks on. We don't want to get too used to losing games.

I think that rot has well and truly set in to be honest

I said it last week and I’ll say it again, the squad needs a total overhaul. There are lads at the club who have been amazing for us and played a huge part over the last 4 years but the truth is they’re nowhere near good enough for this level, at least if we want to be competitive. Not one of us on here moaned when PP put all the playoff winners on 2 year contracts, we saw it as a reward for all the hard work they’d put in but the simple fact is being sentimental is killing us. I know this will be shouted down but for me we need to move on from the likes of Jake, Ringo and Dens, all 3 are genuine legends at the club but along with Hannighan, White, Hampson, Willo, Hancock and even Kosylo they’re all getting older together and we need legs in the team to compliment those players like a Smith and Senior.

And finally, I’m the biggest fan of PP, I think he’s the sole reason we are where we are and has given us a team to put a smile on our faces but what other club would have given a full time, 3 year contract to a manager that has gone though a run the we’re currently on? The answer is none and I can’t help but feel this has played some part in being stuck in this rut.

Pete and Louise parted ways quite a few years ago now and I believe she doesn’t get down as much as she used to do due to working within the police.
