Darlington - Match Thread
« on: August 02, 2016, 09:33:17 AM »

So it's upon us, just weeks on from that tame surrender at Braintree. A new Manager and pretty much a new team. Seems like we will see a sizeable away following from Darlington on Saturday, so the impact of relegation won't be felt straight away. We usually have lesser attendances in august with folks being away, but let's hope we can muster four figures of our own giving us a decent turn out over all. Don't know what to expect from Darlington, although to win the title from the position they were in was some achievement.

--------------------------Dawber
Patterson---Hannigan-----Cyrus-----Charlton
-----------------------Goodall
-----------------Lynch-----Moult-------------
---------------------------------------------------BHC
------------------------Lawrie
------------------------Reeves

I wouldn't play Callum Charlton. Looked poor again last night and he'll be exposed within minutes on Saturday as the weak link if he plays him. I'd play Simon Garner there. He look assured and I liked his verbal contribution too. I'd also take out Hasler Gregg and play Richman , but apart from that I'd play the same team.

Dawber
Patterson
Cain
Hannigan
Cyrus
Goodall or Moult
Lynch
new loan player
Cregg
Hobson
Reeves

BHC needs a target for his pretty decent set pieces, so I'd play Hobson with Reeves.

There'd be more chance of a better home crowd if we actually advertised the game. Not even posters outside the ground yet!!

Back four is easy............Patterson, Cyrus, Hannigan, Cain

From the four games I have seen

Midfield from.........Moult, Lynch, Richman.........with Goodall in front of back four and Lawrie playing behind Reeves

OR

Moult, Lynch, Richman, Hassler-Cregg...........with Reeves and Hobson upfront

I agree 100% with your first option.

The 1st option definately looks the best option but doesn't provide much width.

Full backs as wing backs and hope we create more than we suffer

Guess NY will have had Darlington watched and will know what to go with
