Chester - MATCH THREAD
« on: October 19, 2015, 09:50:02 AM »

It's that time of year again, goes without saying that Saturday is a massive fixture. Four decent results can set a club of our size up for generations (see Burton and Exeter as proof).

Looks worrying that ranks maybe out, but hopefully he'll make it. Great that we will see crowther back and leave Chester guessing as to how we will line up.

Need a real rallying call to the local community for Saturday, with City and United not playing and Chester sure to bring a huge following we need Every Alty fan to try and make this fixture. I'm sure they'll bring as many or more than last New Year's Day so a strong home following is important. It's a though fixture, but a game we can win.

Hoping the players spend a bit of time at the end of training on Thursday watching the following few videos

We can do this, and add another chapter

14 years since we made it to the 2nd round and twenty one since we beat a league club in the cup. I remember the days when we would expect to make the 3rd round every season. Long over due a cup run.

Whilst we are capable of winning, i do fear the worst. But generally when i expect us to lose we win and vice versa.

I have cancelled my holiday in Scotland to turn up, so they better bloody win.

agreed.  Last few years we just seem not to be arsed with the FA Cup.  Time to change that and win, get on a god cup run and rustle ups some sponds.

Quite apart from regaining our reputation as a cup team, the Griffith scam means we seriously need the financial benefits of a good cup run. This tie is winnable....then we're only two more wins away from a massive payday at somewhere like Old Trafford.

As has been said,  this is a massive purely on the finance front.

Forgetting the qudos of being in the next  round the money could get a couple in,  & God knows we need them.

Looking forward to it

Strange post just appeared on Facebook:

Dear Chester Fans, watch out for this geezer on Saturday. He's from altrincham and attends every home game and he'll be infiltrating the away end claiming to be a Chester fan on Saturday. I've heard he's even bought the away shirt to make it seem more believable.

if it sounds like crap, smells like crap and looks like crap, it is almost certainly crap.

Very odd.

My thoughts exactly. The stereotype posh lad with matching silly jumper. Because everyone in Alty is like that aren't they? Someone has too much time on their hands.

Edited to add the post has now been deleted from Facebook.
