The two "nightmare" games

Torquay and Exeter are going to be massively difficult games for us. Of that there is absolutely no doubt. However, there is another way of looking at these games.

These games against lower placed opposition have been huge pressure games for the team and everyone concerned at the club, do or die games if you will. We have so far taken 5 points and remained unbeaten in these matches - a pretty good return for our efforts. We now face trips to Torquay and Exeter, both are games we are expected to lose by a mile. The pressure is now taken right off our shoulders and heaped straight onto our respective hosts. We showed at Cambridge that we have the stomach for a battle and the onus is on these high flying teams to break us down and do what their fans expect - beat us out of sight. To my mind, this puts a burden on them and the longer we get into these games without conceding, the more of an advantage this will be to us.

I am fully expecting backs to the wall FA Cup type battling performances in both of these games and if we do lose it won't be for the want of effort. A scrappy point picked up in either game is a point more than we are expected to achieve so they are almost like bonus games. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Come on Alty!!!!
