Altrincham FC First Team / Shaun Densmore optimistic
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:06:50 PM »
From the official website:

SHAUN HOPEFUL
Shaun Densmore has been having an impressive pre-season for Altrincham and in the Non-League Paper he says of the club, "It is a great club. My dad (Peter) obviously played here and I want to try and get them promoted. Relegation was hard to take. We almost managed to stay up but it just wasn't meant to be. Some of the new players the new manager has brought in permanently and on trial look very good so, hopefully, we can have a good season. I was talking to a few of the lads the other day and we were saying it will be weird going from trying to avoid defeat to expecting to win most weeks".

I have had this shirt for a few years now and would like to auction it to raise as much money as possible for Mark's testimonial. It was one of the actual first team away shirts worn during our 2003/04 centenary season.

Auction to end at 8pm on Friday 22nd July - I will bring the shirt to the game on the Saturday. If the winning bidder would like me to get it signed on the day by any past or present Alty players who are at the game, please pm me beforehand and I will do my best to get as many signatures as possible.

Thanks for reading this and please bid generously!

Note: If you wish to bid by email you can do so at ideas4alty@hotmail.co.uk

Altrincham FC First Team / Match DVD's

Are we still filming all our home games next season?

Question for the technically gifted: How difficult would it be to edit match highlights and set up a subscription service for our fans?

I'm interested to know whether there's any mileage in this.

Altrincham FC First Team / Interesting piece from Hyde FC forum
« on: June 18, 2011, 02:41:09 PM »
They appear to have preliminary plans in place to start running double-decker coaches to away games, with players using the top deck and supporters on the bottom deck.

How would this work after the game? Surely the fans would end up having to wait ages before setting off for home. Also, surely there are things which go on on team coaches which are not for the eyes/ears of supporters.

I appreciate they are probably trying to do it for all the right reasons but I think it's a non-starter.

A few comments from Hyde's forum:

"Good servant over many years for the club. "

"Got to say Im pretty gutted that Lynchy has gone, a solid player with a never say die attitude."

"Sad to see Chris go he has always been one of my favourite players & has given great service to Hyde, always 100%. "

"A very loyal servant to Hyde United. And a player who was good to have around the dressing room."

I like the sound of this lad!

Altrincham FC First Team / Sean Leaves
« on: June 02, 2011, 02:28:44 PM »
From official site:

SEAN LEAVES

Altrincham FC chairman, Grahame Rowley announces, "It is with regret that we have to announce that Sean Riley, our physio for the last six years, has left to take up a similar post at Barrow. The club would like to thank Sean for all the hard work he has put in during his time at Moss Lane, treating all the players and arranging specialist treatment when required. We wish him all the very best in his new role. A replacement will be named shortly".
Sean originally joined as the club physio in mid-October 2004 and was formerly the physio at Accrington Stanley and Kendal Town. He has also been resident physio for the Blackburn Sunday League and for Gt Harwood Town and Bamber Bridge and was involved in the GB team for the World Student games in Beijing. He holds an FA diploma in the treatment and management of sports injuries. Off the field, Sean has a reputation as an accomplished "rapper" and has also played in goal for the AFC Staff XI versus the Supporters XI.

Thanks to Sean and good luck at Barrow.

Sounds like a man with a plan. I have faith that Lee will put out a good side by the start of the season.
