I hope it's not Charlie Joyce from Scouseport. I hear he's rubbish.

Looks like some on this forum have decided that they will moan no matter what the management try.
Like with Lee, it appears some have decided the new manager is not going to do well even before he builds a squad.

You didn't take me seriously did you??!!

Young and energetic....fits the profile of a Neil Young player pretty well I suppose. But if he wasn't good enough for Southport that's an immediate minus.

Welcome to Alty Charlie.....show us what you're made of.

Southport stayed up (and took 4 points off us), we didn't.

Whilst they didn't look great, it can't be placed as an immediate minus?

You beat me to it.............was going to make the same point i.e. that last year he was a midfielder playing for a better team than us

I don't  consider Stalybridge to be better than us.

Having watched Staly a few times last season I can say with absolute certainty that we are better than them. Utter gash.

Them and Curzon Ashton both finished top half last season. A lot is being made about the competitiveness of the league but if those two can get into the top half then I see no reason why we, considering the players we're looking to retain, can't sneak the play offs.

A lot is being made about how tough the North is but half the division is still pretty bobbins to be honest. It's still a big standard drop.

What we need to realise is that we are now a Conference North club again and therefore as we cannot afford to pay  mercenaries (and why would we) we will attract players who are comfortable with this level.  If we can pick up a few of the better options and a few battlers, especially with experience of a higher level then that is where we are. All this talk of the north division being a tough league is defeatist to me, it is nothing like the league we have just dropped from, we just need to recruit wisely and get stuck in. I for one am delighted to see such early action, I'm used to sod all going on until about a fortnight before the season starts.

I did wonder about Sean Williams after Hednesford being relegated. This is his level after all.

Unfortunately, you could have written that very same sentence about Josh O'Keefe last summer...!

O'Keele was "on Sinnott's radar". Let's hope that Young's radar isn't off beam to the same degree.

I see Pady Lacey has been released by Barrow. He fits the bill doesn't he......a young Scouser. Thought he showed good promise when he was here but not really given much of a chance by the manager.

didn't really fit our style at the time.

Was far more effective for barrow in the conf than for barrow or us in the north
