Little off injured already.
Joe O'neil on as sub
-
Prolific striker replaced by a waste of space.
We're down to ten men as far as I'm concerned.
-
Playing 4 4 2 with smith on the right wing
-
Not sure this is a good idea, but afternoon folks. Any news on what Col's injury is?
-
northwich 1 down
-
Vics now 2 down
Col's injury sounded like a hamstring
-
i would laugh if joe gets a hat trick
-
Johnson just had a good chance saved 2 good efforts now
-
Sounds like Johnsons having another good game
-
i would laugh if joe gets a hat trick
If Joe O'Neill hits a hat trick I will double my sponsorship of Ecky's slimathon.
-
Good Alty pressure by the sound of it.
Kevin Poole playing well for Burton at 45!
-
i would laugh if joe gets a hat trick
I was going to say "Cue hat-trick"
Alas, you beat me to it again H!

Here's the other choices

BURTON: Poole, Webster, Simpson, James, McGrath, Corbett, Harrad, Goodfellow, Buxton, Pearson, Yates. Subs: Stride, Gilroy, Deeney, Austin, Morris.

I'm just stating my opinion - I think he's a poor striker. As stated above I'm delighted he's scored.
-
Any idea what formation we are playing?
-
And I'm here!
-
Im not sure what people base joe being sh1t on?
He hardly plays, but his scoring record is actually quite good.

Just a reminder
27:02
A cross is delivered by Joe O'Neill, Shaun Densmore takes a shot. Blocked by Aaron Webster.
23:49 GOAL - Joe O'Neill
Burton Albion 0 - Altrincham 1Joe O'Neill scores a goal from outside the area low into the middle of the goal. Burton Albion 0-1 Altrincham.Assist on the goal came from Warren Peyton. Foul by Michael Simpson on Joe O'Neill, free kick awarded. Matthew Doughty produces a shot on goal direct from the free kick, Kevin Poole makes a save.
-
Any idea what formation we are playing?
4 4 2 apparently,
-
A goal made by Alty's most hated, Peyton to O Niell

I might have put Denham on especially away from home. Nothing against Joe but I'd have thought he was too similar to Dale and Denham would be more likely to provide something from deeper but all credit to GH and Joe. Shows what I know!
-
I've just always found him to be a bit powder puff. I'm the happiest man in the world to be proved wrong by anybody and, in fairness to him, Joe seems to have done a job today. At the end of the day, if Alty perform well and get results I don't care whether I'm right or not, it's not important.
Seriously, big credit to GH as he seems to have got it spot on so far today!
-
Any idea what formation we are playing?
4 4 2 apparently,
Ta, which of the defenders in centre mid? Smith?

Smith is on the right wing

Alty fans very loud today, hardly a peep out of burton, woeful for top of the league
-
Vics 3 down. I do fear for them as a club.
-

Agreed, brilliant singing from the start - sounds like we've got loads there!
-

They always have been, along with their attendances at that top class ground !!
-
It's a good turnout today apparently

I went there for a trophy game in the mid 80's, the place was a cauldron with well over 3,000 there.
-
Here's a stat from the BBC:
Shots on target
2 Burton v Alty 7

That would have been their old ground. Our coach got vandalised when we went there in 2001/02 - charming place! ::)
-
I have to say the commentators seem pretty good today. Although if we can keep the score the same I think a "we should be beating teams like this" is on it's way!!
-
time joe got his second now
.
-
"Altrincham will feel they can put the game to bed if they go in 2-0"
I praise the commentators and they prove they don't know us at all.
Not many of us would feel that in the 5th minute of injury time, never mind half time!!
-
The song playing now instead of commentary is that Burtons managers team talk?
-
Seriously? Not listening to the radio link.
Just realised you're talking about the radio. Thought for one very bizarre minute the team talk was being broadcast to the ground. Yes I know, I'll get my coat.
Gazelle, obviously not enough coconut in my drink.

Shot from the edge of the area parellel with post, keeper looked to have it covered but it squirmed through
-
Lucky escape there. We're up against it for 45 minutes here.
I say defend from the front and put Denham on to run at them a bit.
-
phew that was close
-
Bollocks, we'll get beat here I think.
-
blast
-
1 all >:(
-
Burton may have had a rollocking at h/t.
-
nearly retook the lead
-
Doesn't sound like we're sitting back
-
Just got on.....pleasantly surprised to see its 1-1! Come on Alty!
-
Get Denham on !!!
-
Get Denham on !!!
What do you do though ? Hold out for 1-1 away from home against a team thats just won the last 12, OR go for it stick Denham on for Smith and win/lose ?
I would stick with how it is...

We can still sit back with Denham on...
Hadfield on...
-
lane off jordon on

Whatever the result, this has clearly been an immense performance by the lads today. It's really pleasing to know we're competing well in games like this.

Very true.
Proves we can take on any team, home or away
-
I just hope Burton don't score their customary 92nd minute goal there.
-
Denham on for Johnson.
Commentator says this is a defensive move, which I find utterly bizarre!
-
I just hope Burton don't score their customary 92nd minute goal there.
They won't: No Daryl Clare!
-
johnson has ploberly run himself to a stand
-
3 mins added..COME ON!!
-

Oooo that sounded close, Grandad doing well today for them.
-
Greg Young up for a corner! We're obviously not sitting back too much!
-

-
1-1 FT
Great result, well done GH and all the lads!
-
Fantastic result. Well done lads!
-
FT!!! What an excellent point that is....totally unexpected and very welcome! Well played lads!
-
How many of us thought we would get anything from this?
Not I. Great result and sounds like a great performance.
Well done lads
-
1-1 fulltime very good result
same here JD
-
That'll do nicely.
COME ON ALTY.
-
never mind well done lads a big thanks to sw for staying off here is more appropriate
-
Sw was on here at Half time. Excellent result
-
Get In!! ;D Great Point. Completely unexpected.
Massive well done to the lads.
And well done to the radio commentators. Gave us good credit and not a hint of 'we should be beating teams like this'.
-
I thought we might snatch a draw today.
Once again GH gets the tactics bang on for a big performance from the players.
WELL DONE ALTY!!!!!
-
what a fantastic result, well done lads
gazelle give sw some slack, he's obviously not a complete jonah! ;D

Yeah, their commentators gave us some nice credit at the end. It was nice also like you say to hear none of the "...with all due repect to Altrincham...." stuff!
-
At 1-1 and them pressing I left to wash the car for the first time in months, I'd forgotten it was blue.
So, credit where credit is due, its all mine!

Goodwins for SW for his man of the match performance.
Next game do you want to come and wash Jennifer's car?
-
Love to JD but some distance from SW London!
Considering a trip up to Bonnie Scotland later this year, may fly to Inverness and use as a base to explore The Highlands with a hire car. Any recommendations?

Alas, not an area I know well. Having said that I think anywhere you go north of the central belt and you are in a nice area.
My ex in-laws used to do tours of the distilleries every year!
-
Yes, cheers Jim! You are probably quite right. Not sure a waxed Barbour is my thing really.
-

SW,
Try" Glen Affric " near Inverness, and the "Black Isle" just over the bridge from Inverness.

Thanks for the tip, I'll google it and also check out The Rough Guide..........in Waterstones........I have the Black Isle in my radar though. Spain for the last few years has become too too expensive now thanks to the Euro.

Mister Flynn,
VofD was present on the away terrace in Burton yesterday and even predicted the correct scoreline.
We are all still in a state of shock after seeing Joe O'Neill score a goal....
I hope that you stuck to your diet and resisted the temptation of the pre-match faggot and peas from the snack bar?

I bribed all the Burton snack bar workers to tell you that the faggots had sold out regardless of demand.
It was for your own good....
