The Scots call Cottage Pie/Shepherds Pie - "Jock Cavier with a roof"

Of course a genuine Scots shepherds pie is made with mutton rather than lamb - and that would be a decent description of it when served properly.

Never mind about all these foreign pies!  ;D  What 's happened to Hollands Pies, and the best chippy in the world......the shed on grove Lane Timperley. Are either or both still available back there in the civilised world?

The best chippy back in my school days a good 20 odd years ago was indeed The Grove Hut on Grove Lane. I know it got taken over about ten years ago but i've since moved out of the area so no idea if it's still there.

The shed is indeed still trading and often too busy

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

Hollands Meat & Potato pies are alive and kicking both in the Shed Chippie in downtown Timperley and The Don Chip shop opposite the Old Market Tavern.
