I presume it is a decision made in training as opposed to being made by the captain?

3 yellows so far - I hope the game doesn't get a wee bit too edgy, not when we've only just got 2 of our best players back from disciplinary suspensions (tho I know its 2-1 to Tammy so far with the yellows)

This ref's reputation goes before him. I only hope he doesn't try to take centre stage again tonight and ruin the game in the process.

Actually, I'd forgotten which ref it was. He has been known to be a bit up himself.

Do some refs really think people pay to watch them?

I think it was a World Cup finals match, Brazil v (I think) Sweden where one of the teams scored from a corner and a British ref (Thomas?) blew for full time between the corner being taken and the 'goal' being scored.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clive_Thomas
He also blew the final whistle seconds before Zico of Brazil scored what would have been the winning goal in a 1978 World Cup match against Sweden.[5] He was also strongly opposed to extravagant goal celebrations, going so far as to break up celebrations and order players back to their positions for the re-start.

According to my source at the game we have around 50 or 60 fans at the game and it is not segregated. Apparently their fans were being more than a little bit basic as we changed ends.

Definitely sounds like Tamworth!

Great win lads. Didn't expect anything more than a point tonight.. It's nice to be looking at the play-offs rather than over our shoulders at relegation!

McCaliskey an inspired signing??

Not sure if he's an inspired signing having seen him on Saturday but at the end of the day he's stuck it in the back of net so that's good enough for me so far!!

These last couple of games were a good opportunity to show where we stand in the overall scheme of things after a succession of matches against the top sides in the division. I think we've acquitted ourselves brilliantly.

If we can sort the home form out a top ten finish is within our grasp. Crucially, we have a good chance of doing well in the Trophy if our heads are right.

It's an exciting time to be an Alty fan, bring on the Barrow!  :)

Ebbsfleet are looking doomed, surely it's our year to get something there? Those 'Altrincham wank, wank, wank' chants by the 14 year olds behind the goal 2 years ago have not aged well. ;D

Before Christmas and the Wrexham double header with Kettering and York then too, in the league we have Barrow (H), Histon (A) and Eastbourne (H) 3 very winnable matches, we really must crack on now and keep this run going. It's a sligtly mad thought but if our home form was anywhere near as good as the away form we'd sit comfortably in the play offs.

"Matthew Doughty and John McAliskey's second-half strikes helped Altrincham boost their play-off bid at Tamworth."

Love it!

Just back from Tamworth.. Another solid performance away from home good free kick from Matty and Mcalisky was quick to react to nip and get the second.. Windy but dry..

The only bad thing was that prat Joyce the referee.. He has this fkn thing about being the centre of attention.. = Tosser

Onwards and upwards

Cmon Alty
