They had a good photographer...

Thanks bud. Just a shame I wasn't appreciated more locally else I might still be doing it!

It was 25th August 2003, a Saturday game. 4-1 to Alty with the scorers Thornley, Aspinall, Matthews and Gardner.

Blimey, that season was a struggle. By the 23rd September we were 22nd, and eventually finished 12th.

I meant to bring this up on Boxing Day, but did we not score five at Droylsden once in the days of David Gardner? Possibly a Tuesday night, possible the season after the "ploughed field" game. If we get half of that on NYD i'll be happy. 2.5-1 anyone?

Don't remember that one Ian but thanks for reminding me of the ploughed field game.  One of the oddest things I've seen that with full on tractor tyre marks up and down the pitch.
I really didn't need to be reminded of the ploughed field game. The most obvious handball on the line that I've EVER seen missed by all the officials, Steve Hawes totally losing it on the way off the pitch after his red card, robbed blind, and the worst pint of Holt's I've ever had in the Kings (thank God it was better when I returned a couple of years later !)

362 boosted by the home thrashing, no other football and Christmas exiles still being at home
hope we break the 400 mark would be nice

I'd be delighted if half of the 600 that travelled last time, made the trip on new years day

Has anyone got any photos of the occupation of droylsden

I think that was the day Dave Pace's bullishness was finally quashed. He must've just looked round at everything Curtis Warren and Colin Smith he'd put into that club and then looked round to us and seen a proper club and following and just sighed.
