It may benefit him to have not been involved. His confidence was knocked a bit last year. Being involved more fully his season would not have improved either hs confidence or his form. Looking for positives...

Well, earlier in the season (i.e. Stockport at home) he was nowhere near fit enough for this level - as hardly any of them were. The pre season stamina work must've been abysmal.

I thought Sam Heathcote was our best player towards the end of last season. Admittedly the competition was sparse, but he was our MOM at both Halifax and Torquay. I’ve been surprised we’ve seen so little of him this season and that Patterson has been considered a better option at RB while Densmore has been injured. Hopefully we will see more of him in the second half of the season now his old man is back in charge.
